Symptom Solution
Burner comes on for just a few seconds, then shuts off
  • Check burner solenoid coils. Sometimes these open circuit after heating up
  • Check for loose connection at burner valve
  • Check thermostats for proper temperature operation
  • Check the vent.

Tip:  You can pull the dryer a few  feet from the wall and  unhook the vent hose from the back of the dryer, and do a load of clothes with NOTHING attached to the vent pipe on the back of the dryer to determine if the problem is in the vent or in the dryer  To Clean the Vent pipe in the wall....You can use a vent cleaning brush as seen on our parts page, or a fish tape, garden hose, drain tape , with a rag secured to the end of it and pull it through. I've also seen people use leaf blowers.

Clothes are too hot
  • Check all thermostats
  • Check the element for a short to ground
  • Check the vent.

Clothes not completely drying or taking too long to dry the clothes
  • Check all air flow ducts for blockage
  • Check all thermostats
  • Check blower fan for stripped out or full of lint
Note: this is a common problem The hole in the center of the blower wheel should be D shaped. They strip out after awhile and then spin freely on the shaft, thus not spinning at the same speed as the motor.
  • Check for belt slippage
  • Check gas valve for proper operation
  • Check heat selector switch
  • Check lint screen
  • Check switch mounted on motor
  • Check timer
  • Check the vent.
