Magic Chef / Montgomery Wards / Admiral / Norge / Jenn Air / Crosley Plastic Tray Ice Maker

This is a Plastic Tray Ice Maker, sometimes referred to as a Dole Ice Maker. 

The tray in these ice makers are known for getting calcium or minerals built up on them, then when the tray turns over to dump the cubes, they get stuck in the tray , thus causing the Ice Maker to leak as it then fills with water and it still has the cubes in it and the water runs over and into the bucket.

We offer only the plastic tray for this Ice Maker. We do not offer the head assembly or any parts inside of the head. If you are having problems other than the tray we recommend the new conversion kit as seen below.

Problem Possible Solution

The Plastic fill tube that feeds water to the ice maker keeps freezing up. Defrost fill tube

Check water supply valve to I/M water inlet valve, if normal 1/2" angle stop or shut off suspect water inlet valve.(#20 Above Image)

If 1/4" saddle type valve (Click for Photo) supplies water to inlet valve #20 Above Check saddle valve for mineral build up.
If saddle valve is "self piercing type" (it punctures the tubing when you install it) & is not a drill type (you must drill a 1/4" hole in pipe when you install it), replace the valve with a drill type.

Freezer temperature set too cold, set to normal temperatures

Saddle Type Water Supply Valve
